The Flame Ministries is a college campus ministry reaching out to the students at Truman State University, Moberly Area Community College - Kirksville, and A. T. Still University. We are a Christian campus ministry reaching out to all denominations of students. We are sponsored by Faith United Methodist Church. We do many different types of activities throughout the year including worship, praise band, small groups, Bible studies, Sunday Supper (free dinner on Sunday nights), service opportunities, running group, intramurals, and a wide-variety of fellowship activities (everything from movie nights to ultimate Frisbee to video game nights).

The Flame Ministries is more than just a campus ministry that schedules a lot of events. We are a close community of friends that are all growing together in Christ. This community is what makes our ministry so special to so many of our students. It is a very open community where everyone is loved and accepted for who they are. The Flame Ministries has become a home away from home and a college family for so many of us. We want you to become part of our family. No matter what year you are, what school you go to, or what your background is, we would love to have you visit us. Whether you come to a scheduled event or just stop by the house sometime we would like to get to know you.

We are located right behind Missouri Hall. Just follow the sidewalk that runs between Brewer Hall and Missouri Hall and you will find us right on the other side of S. Davis Street. We hope to meet you soon!

PRAISE BAND


The Flame Ministries Praise Band is a vital component of our ministry. We meet twice a week for practice, and lead the music at Focus, our weekly worship service. Currently we are made up of 2 guitarists, 2 drummers/percussionists, a keyboardist, a bassist, six vocalists, and an audio/visual manager. We are always welcoming new members, from any ability level. The Flame Ministries Praise Band is also available to travel and play at worship services on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings, or special events like a youth lock-in. We love to share our musical gifts with others. If you are interested in having us play for your worship service, or would like more information, please contact Sara Hines at slh711@truman.edu. SUNDAY SUPPERS

Sunday Suppers: Sundays at 6pm

Students:
Free Food… what more can we say? Sunday Suppers are free dinners provided on Sunday nights when the dorms do not serve food. Not only is it free food, but it is also good food. Different churches and community members take their time to fix us home-cooked meals. The food is always great and it is also a great chance to meet and share in fellowship with the other Flame Ministry students. Please come by the house sometime and eat with us!




Churches, Church Groups, and Community Members:
We are in the process of planning Sunday Suppers for the Fall 2008 semester. This outreach is open to all students during a time when meals are not offered in the dorm cafeterias. It provides an occasional home-cooked meal and time for fellowship. It is a great ministry for those who already attend regularly and is also one of our best outreach activities. The dinners serve around 30 college students, although we do not know exactly how many new students will attend at this point. Sponsoring a Sunday Supper involves preparing the food and having people there to serve it at 6pm on Sunday. If you would like to contribute to this ministry, we would greatly appreciate your help.
